GE Dryer wont start
« on: October 30, 2008, 12:32:48 PM »

I have a GE Dryer model # DBSR453EB1WW and it has suddenly stopped working although the light still works when you open the door.

Someone has suggested the thermo fuse be checked. Can anyone provide extracts from the service manual so I can diagnose if that is the case?

Many Thanks

Greg

There's (3) Thermal devices on the Heater Housing.

GE Service Manuals aren't on-line and are hard to find...

Some of the GE material is available online, but it is not as easy as downloading a manual...

The thermal fuse is located on the heater housing.Open the door and hunt the screws that hold down the top. Get em out and remove the top. The heater pan is on the rear wall of the dryer. The safetys are all mounted on it. This is the fuse:
