Bosch Dishwasher - doesn't wash correctly?
« on: April 22, 2018, 01:36:51 AM »

Hi - I have a ~3 year old fairly nice Bosch dishwasher. During the install I had an initial problem with the drain hose, but it was fixed (I think). Since then the dishwasher really has never cleaned dishes well. They always have a residue on them, e.g., the glasses have a hard reside that you have to pickoff.

So a couple questions for you gurus:
- was our install screwed up?
- we've had hot water issues, is it possible we dont get enough hot water?
- maybe the dishwasher itself has problems?

Any advice is appreciated. We're getting a bit tired of manually washing our dishes each time after it goes through the dishwasher.

Are u using jet dry / finish it's a rinse agant as well. If so check the holes in the spray arms may be cloged. Also check you sphyen break if you have one if not u need a loop in the drain hose as well.

You must use a rinse aid.  Make sure the drain hose has a high loop.

Thanks - just to understand is this a loop in the hose that is position high in the cabinet? The hose is underneath my kitchen sink and is slightly below the top surface of the dishwasher.

Thanks! that helps a lot. I measured it and it's about 22" which seems to be in the right range, but there is a bit of kink. It looks like the attachment. Should I try to eliminate this kink or is it ok?

Yes, take out the kink.  If you run it and then cancel it should drain out.  Is there any water in the sump/bottom? If so then pull the unit out and check that the hoses are ok....no kinks, unit is smashing the hose, etc.  You could also have a something stuck in the sump like a piece of food.  If the unit is connected to a brand new disposal make sure the plug at the drain hose connection was removed.  I see that one more often than i should.
