Maytag coin op dryer timer/doesn't need coins to work anymore
« on: February 06, 2018, 06:45:11 PM »

Hi, I've a MDG16CSBWW that works without coins.  Press the button and it does not stop.  No timer function.  My tenants love it but it's costing me money, LOL.

I assume it's the timer located just behind the coin slots?  If so, are there any special instructions on how to replace it?  Or is it possible to repair the timer assy?

Thanks!

Mark

I found that part# WP33001275 is the part associated with my model but it physically doesn't look like the one in the machine.  Please see the attached image of the one in the machine.

Have I ordered the wrong part?

Here is what I see when I look up your timer.

Looks like the same thing as in your photo except the new part is shown from a side view and your photo is from the top.

Thank you for looking that up, I agree.  Here is the one I actually ordered.  Same part #.  Cool?  It was a little less expensive.

Also, the existing one has a label that says to refer to the manual to set the timer.  What's involved in setting it up when I put the new one in?

Thanks!

I had one of these units last year and I never could find a manual that explained how to to adjust the time interval but the timer plastic sleeve can be rotated for different settings.  You may want to look at the timer more closely before you install a new one. On the unit I had last year the timer was working OK but the slide for the coins was missing some parts. The model number I had was LDG190S-03 and I sold it to someone who was happy with it.

This is a great manual. Wish I would have had it when I worked on the unit I had last year.

Maybe helpful I don't know but here is a manual. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-i5KqMA2RZwSDd0Q2hocjFBeXM/view?usp=sharing

Thank you for the responses, guys!  It's great to have this manual.

When I look at the torsion timer section, it goes deep into disassembly of the part.  I'm curious if that is necessary in my case, having ordered a new part?  It also doesn't seem to mention anything about adjustment of a new part for installation.

Using the terminology in the manual (I didn't know how to refer to these parts), I was able to find this, which I think is more like what I'm looking for in regard to adjustment referred to on the part itself.  However I can't be sure until I get the part and dig in to the repair.  I hope this is helpful to someone.
