I have had a few toaster apart. It's maybe been 20 years ago. :)
Hairdryers, toasters, fans, all that little stuff is what I started on.

I just loved taking things apart even as a kid. My dad would get made because I would take things apart to see what made them work and then not put things back together. Heck, taking them apart was the fun part. :)

Now I take $1000.00 plus washers apart and I get paid for it too.  O0

I don't know what's sadder, the fact that I can't find any appliance tech jokes or that nobody cares to write them.  ::) ;D

But, I did find this one:

Don't Talk to the Parrot

Wanda's dishwasher quit working so she called a repairman. Since she had to go to work the next day, she told the repairman, "I'll leave the key under the mat. Fix the dishwasher, leave the bill on the counter, and I'll mail you a check."

"Oh, by the way don't worry about my bulldog Spike. He won't bother you. But,  whatever you do, do NOT, under ANY circumstances, talk to my parrot!" "I REPEAT, DO NOT TALK TO MY PARROT!!!"

When the repairman arrived at Wanda's apartment the following day, he discovered the biggest, meanest looking bulldog he had ever seen. But, just as she had said, the dog just lay there on the carpet watching the repairman  go about his work.

The parrot, however, drove him nuts the whole time with his incessant yelling, cursing and name calling. Finally the repairman couldn't contain himself any longer and yelled,

"Shut up, you stupid, ugly bird!"

To which the parrot replied, "Get him, Spike!"

My philosophies:

If it ain't broke, don't fix it and When all else fails RTFM (read the "funny" manual)

true story.....

looked at a stove, called lady of the house to the room and said " you need a thermostat, i dont have this one with me, we stock it at the shop i'll come back tomorrow
lady says  SHUSH  one second

comes back with a 20 dollar bill and says "this is for you if you go tell my husband its 2 weeks to get that part"
she smiles " he has taken me out for dinner every night since the stove broke"

i told her a week and keep the 20 for the good laugh

got the 20 anyways  :)

lol... or if you notice something wrong with the appliance on TV.

Not sure if it was on a TV show or commercial, but they opened up the dryer to throw something in.
It was a Matag Neptune and it had a baffle missing from inside the drum, lol...

Also notice on TV shows when the refrigerator doors swing the wrong way. They get it right about half the time on the remodel shows my wife likes to watch.

Or when they remodel a kitchen and put the dishwasher in the corner. This is fine if the other corner cabinets don't have handles that stick out and keep the dishwasher door from opening. Only seen one show where they pointed out there mistake by placing the dishwasher in the corner. They ended up removing the cabinet door handles so the dishwasher door could open all the way, lol...

When you and your wife are watching a home remodel show on t.v. and the washer/dryer gets stacked and   crammed in a cubbyhole .She remarks "wow" what an efficient use of space  and you comment "try to fix the damn thing " .

If a slick talking Salesman trys to get you to buy an appliance and you rattle off in a loud voice exactly what goes out on every appliance he is trying to sell.
May the hinges of our friendship
        never grow rusty.
