Maytag FL Washer MHW6000X Door Boot Spring
« on: October 29, 2017, 07:58:12 AM »

Working on a Maytag FL Washer MHW6000X.  This may be a dumb question, but I'm gonna ask as this is the first time I've seen this model.  The customer wants me to replace a moldy door gasket.  When I got on site, I noticed there was no outer boot retaining spring around the door seal.  The old one appears to be glued in.  In looking at the diagram, I don't see an outer boot retaining spring, only one that goes on the outer tub.  Does the replacement just sit in the grooves with no retainer?  Any wisdom appreciated.  Thanks!

It has one on the front. It's listed on the "top and cabinet" diagram. Item #5.

It sometimes helps when another pair of eyes is involved.  I should have looked closer as one spring is on one page of the diagram, the other, on another page.  And yep, looks like WPW10237502 AND WPW10237503 are BOTH listed as Washer Door Boot Spring Clamp.  And according to the diagram, both appear to have screws in them.  Probably a cut-and-paste job on the design board.  I'm ordering both from my local warehouse, knowing at least one is right -- hopefully.

Thanks, man!
