My 15+ year old Kenmore, unsure of the model, but it is the one that all the common Whirlpool parts fit online.
I have in the past five years replaced the transmission, motor, and pump. Still works great.
However, last night, spin stopped working, and the spin the night before was a bit noisier than normal. A bit of a rough metal on metal type of sound, not sure how to describe it. Not a shaking/out of balance type of sound.
So now with the spin not working, I feel like I can hear something still spinning, but not the basket! Not the sound when my transmission was out, this sounds like something is moving correctly, but not the basket!
Agitation still strong.
I thought last night when the spin started to sound a bit rough metal like sound that it was a bit *weaker* of a spin until the water got out and then the speed was normal. Of course, now even with no water in it, it doesn't spin.
What should I do? Clutch or no? Thanks!!
