Hi! I KNOW i have seen the page that tells how to take apart a Kenmore 80 series, but I'll be DANGED if I can locate it again! Can anyone help a poor schlub that's better with tools than 'puters?
Model 110.29852991
Thanks!

Hokay! I got as far as getting everything apart down to the actual transmission, but now what? The repairman that told me he had enough faith in me that I could do this said something about a spanner wrench or a hammer & awl (or screwdriver?) to get it loose. Once I get this one all apart I have another one to take apart to get the transmission out of to put in thgis one. Got any tips?
Thanks Dan!

replacing the clutch is no big deal. Very easy job. You must first yank the agitator out, then the transmission. The clutch mounts right on the transmission.
Fixing to have a go at it now. I'll report back.
Thanks!

ARGGGH! Got the top off of the agitator, but haven't been able to discover how to get tha lower part loose? I found the small hole in the base, but don't know what to make of it. When I tried to use it to block I didn't get anywhere.

I usually just get an extention and a socket to remove the base of that agitator.

Crazy thing is I had already gotten the nut
off. All it took was a firm & gentle upwards pull to take out the rest of the agitator.
Got the whole transmission & shaft out & am ready to tackle the OTHER machine to get them PARTS! BUT, that's not happenin' 'til t'morrow!
Thanks so much for your help!
I'll be sure to post again if I need you on this job!
AGAIN!!! - YOU ROCK!

Hello again... now I have two issues. This transmission is leaking oil when the machine is on its side & while putting it on a brass pin about three inches long wih a flat end with a hole in it fell outta somewhere. I have no idea where it goes or where it fell out from. Do you think the tranny will be okay to use?

Yeah it will be alright. The pin is probably a shipping pin no big deal.

WHEEEE!!!!
Tkanks Dan!
Now I have to put the cabinet back together & give a try.
I'll update you after that.
When I make sure that everything works right I think I'll post a review to relate the entire experience so that the next DYI'er that has to do this will have it all in one place.
I wish you much happiness, success in everything you do & major good karma from now until the end of time.
Once again... YOU ROCK!

Nuh-uh.
I DO go by the name Johnny B! when I sing karaoke though.
i'm a newbie here & MAN do I appreciate this site & you in particular!
I've lived in FL most of my life - Hialeah, Lakeland, ST. Pete, Orlando & now Tampa. Washington State - Renton, Kent. Georgis - almost everywhere in & around Atlanta.
I need one more tip from you... I'm having a hell of a time getting the cabinet back together. What's the trick? Seems to me that the cabinet is supposed to fit on top of the frame & the cabinet seats on the the slots. Just can't seem to get it to cooperate though.

When you move the cabinet into position, look thru the open lid as you do so and be sure to get the
front edge of the cabinet UNDER
the edge of the frame first, then the rest of the cabinet lies on TOP of the frame and the rear tabs will engage.
