WHIRLPOOL WASHER STOPPED DRAINING
« on: October 02, 2008, 02:49:11 PM »

THE WASHER FILLED AND AGITATED, THEN STOPPED WHEN IT CAME TIME FOR DRAIN/SPIN.  I DON'T THINK I HEAR THE TIMER, EITHER.  CAN YOU HELP ME REPAIR IT?

Maury;

It sounds from here like a bad lid switch. There are several topics on this forum which already explain how to correct this. A cheap and easy repair for you.

unplug this lid switch and check for continuity with lid shut. If open replace switch.This switch can be temporarily jumped.

I stopped once before but I fixed it. It was the lid switch. This time the lid switch looks intact but it stops at the part where it should drain water and it makes a humming clicking noise.
