Any ideas that we can try before we call the repairman?  We've fixed lots of appliances but never a freezer

I cannot find any info on the given model number.
Please check it.

Is the compressor running continuously other than when it goes through a defrost cycle?

If yes then it is probably a defrost or a sealed system problem.

If no (it cycles on/off) then it is probably a control/thermostat problem.

If is cylces fast (clicks then it could be a compressor or compressor start device problem.

I would check the door seals first just in case they are letting in warm air.

I am thinking he left out the number 1 in the model number.
