Speed Queen dryer life
« on: March 06, 2016, 06:58:00 AM »

A few days ago I went to a local Speed Queen dealer here in Illinois looking for a used gas or electric dryer that might be a bargain . They had nothing used on hand but in discussing the life of Speed Queen washers and dryers the techs on hand told me that they had one (not for sale) that I should look at. It was a Speed Queen dryer that was over 52 years old and in pretty good shape and still in working condition.  I had one a few months ago that was 47 years old and in good condition and thought that was a record. Is this typical for that brand ?

when a customer asks for a washer or dryer that is bare bones and built to take an abuse.... speedqueen
Most of these are put in to dorms and apartments that are used and abused by teens.

So far as a speed queen service Center we have only had 1 call in 1.5 years. These machines are built like tanks. I went on a tour of the factory in Rippon, WI and I am impressed with the quality and ease of service. These machines are quality.
Yea they don't have all the bells and whistles but you will get an easy 15 years out of them.

Id say in the absolute least 10 years, more like 20-25 in typical use. Speed Queen is the best you can buy for home use by far.
