Maytag MAH8700 starts to SPIN for 3-5 seconds then stops
« on: January 23, 2016, 09:28:57 PM »

I have a Maytag Neptune MAH8700AWW that is unable to complete a spin cycle. When it tries to start spinning, it will ramp up for a few (+/- 3 sec) and then stop.

I have tried it with an empty load. Machine is drained. Water pump works and door latch seems to work.

Ran a Quick SPIN from the Service manual. It runs fine at 105 RPM, but then when it tries to ramp up to the next level it fails around 150 RPM and stops.
Checking the Diagnostic Codes, I am finding several 2E and a single 3E code. Board input and Board output tests seems to pass correctly.

Any help on where to start looking next would be greatly appreciated.

I had one of those this week. Take the control board and look at it closely. The one I had, the control board is totally covered in a rubberized coating to protect it from moisture. however, the diodes and resistors on the board were totally corroded, even some of the pins on the IC's were totally rusted. $445 plus tax canadian retail for that board lol. 4 years old. Nice job Samsung.
