Whirlpool duet stream
« on: September 14, 2008, 06:16:03 PM »

I put washer soap HE in my dispenser then start my washer, Model WFW9500TW00 it acts ok 2 seconds then goes to suds, then to F 35….. The soap dispenser seems to start the problem…  If you run a cycle without soap in the dispenser the washer runs just fine. If you put soap in the dispenser cap # 2 is the amount I use, then it leaks on the outside of the washer and the problems start. The dispenser is shut closed I am sure of that. Any advice before I call my attorney general and start complaining that sales people know of the F 35 problem yet they still sell these washers, and what about Whirlpool there have been complaints on the web so they should know about the problem also???
Thank you for any help….

Not very old at all.

Just give whirlpool a call. It should be repaired under full warranty at no charge to you.
There should be a phone number for whirlpool in the book you got with it.

Please keep us updated.

If suds are detected by the floor sensor then the dang washer will think there is a leak and have failure episode. Put the soap in the tub  with the dang clothes and wash on! Damn the dispenser, full speed ahead!

The repair guy that Best Buy has hired as a contractor to fix whatever problems come up in their appliance repair service is too busy fixing refrigerators and said they will get to it whenever they call my cell phone!
However the repair service secretary said he would be at the house Thursday somewhere between 8:00am and 5:00pm on the 18th September. I have no idea when my Whirlpool Duet Washer that cost us $1500.00 will be repaired, and the funny thing is no one cares…..

“”If suds are detected by the floor sensor then the dang washer will think there is a leak and have failure episode. Put the soap in the tub with the dang clothes and wash on! Damn the dispenser, full speed ahead!””

I did as you suggested and now the washer does not even go that far, it just stops with wet cloths in it, “”SUDS…. F35….SHUT DOWN….””
So took the wet nasty dirty clothes to the laundry mat, where mind you I haven’t been to one since 1975, let hear an AHHHHHHHHHHH, for the old girl, and then dried them in the $1500. 00 dryer….
Thanks for listening to the old woman complain, if and when they get here we will update, husband is giving them a few more days before he starts a campaign again Best Buy and Whirlpool.  :tickedoff:

Must be a leak somewhere in the tub. Did you wash any rugs or quilts in it?Open the bottom panel and remove the mess from the floor and restart.

Being its under warranty my advice would be to wait for the technician to look at it before you take anything apart yourself.

What is a floor sensor?

Hello,

And thank you for asking, but the Best Buy Contractor has still not called with a time that he can get to
my washer. We are at the mercy of waiting for him to call us.

Last contact with anyone with the contractors office was the 19th September 2008.

We were told we have to wait for them (contractor who does Best Buy's repairs) to call us and make an appointment
to come to my home by the contractor's themselves.

We are waiting until Tuesday the 30th which will make this whole contact with Best Buy and the contractor
who does their work 2 weeks... Husband plans on being polite but will insist that the matter is soon taken care of...

Again, thank you for asking...

Our new Whirlpool Duet had the same problem after only three months of use. We contacted Whirlpool (instead of Best Buy) since the washer is still under factory warranty. The issue is a "bad pressure switch".

The part number is W10156252
Service company replaced the part yesterday, and the washer is working like normal. Whirlpool nor the service company had any explanation why the part would go bad in such a short time. No charge since the washer is under warranty.

WARNING - There must be a shortage of the part.  We were initially told that the part was backordered for 2 to 3 weeks. We even tried to obtain the part through other vendors and got the same time frame. Furious with the potential of being without a brand new washer for 3 weeks, we spent many hours on the phone with Whirlpool trying to expedite the part. After some strong encouragement and moving the issue up the chain of customer service, Whirlpool agreed to pull a part from the factory inventory where the washers are built. The only problem is that nobody could tell us when, or if, the new part would be shipped. Suddenly, the part just arrived by FedEx at our house. In all, our washer was inoperable for 1 week. Be persistent. They will tell you over and over there is nothing they can do.

If you negotiate well, Whirlpool will extend your factory warranty for an additional year.

Hello,
Thank you for the piece number, we will be contacting Whirlpool...
I called the repair service contractor again this am, and the message
was: if you do not get an answer call: the last four digits-- 2000, 2001 or 2002...
So needless to say, after 2 solid weeks of run around and no answer we will
try your advise..  Who did you contact to put the piece in for you?
again, thank you....

We contacted Whirlpool directly.  They sent A&E Factory Service to diagnose the problem and install the part when it arrived.

You will need to be persistent with Whirlpool, and they do not return phone calls as promised.
