New Guy Introduction
« on: November 19, 2015, 08:51:15 PM »

Hello to everyone on this site.  As for my introduction, I've been in the automotive field between auto body & Mechanical for quite a while.  A gentleman who has a plumbing business for 10+ years has now gotten into the appliance business and asked me to join as his future service technician.  After years of dealing with cars I decided to take the plunge and join him.

we sell only LG products that are refurbished and scratch and dent items only.  After reading post on here and doing research online,  it seems that just like cars, all brands have problems.  With that said, after searching everywhere online, this forum seems to be the best place to join. I hope to gain information that will help me start out in the right direction.  I've already ordered books that I've seen suggested on here already, just waiting for them to come in.  And if I can help in any way I'll try my best to return the favor.

Thanks to all in advance, and look forward to helping each other out!

:thanks: for the warm welcome.  Second week on the books for me.  Most of my time has been spent on LG dishwashers, 5040,5540,7774 models.  Most of the appliances are only a couple of years old or newer.  I will say though the 5040 series seems to be pretty crappy IMO.  Most of the stuff I'm doing so far is inspection and replacing bases, water inlet valves, and repairing cases from damage, etc.  Then running the dishwasher to make sure it operates the way its supposed to. With only dealing with water and electricity has it's dangers, it beats the heck out of working on oily nasty cars and bolts that break off in heads and such.

 yeah I hope to not be in it that bad, but going to someone's house you just never know.  I've went to one customers house to swap out the fridge with my boss.  Nice and clean there.  But Monday I go see another customer who's lights are not working in the fridge.  Freezer lights work so I'm hoping it'd just the door switches but I guess I'll find out when I get there.  Hopefully it's clean their also.
