Whirlpool washer won't spin
« on: September 10, 2008, 05:19:44 PM »

I have checked the connector, and all three pieces seem to be intact, but the agitator doesn't spin. There appears to be fibrous debris on top of the gearcase. Could this be from the clutch? What's next?

Put the timer to the askerisk and start is going. It should agitate whether it has water in it or not. If it does not agitate then you need a drive coupling. let me know.

At first the coupler looked good, but still wouldn't spin. Double checked the coupler. Apparently the center was spun out of the half that slides onto the transmission shaft just enough that it wouldn't drive the transmission.
