maytag dryer Auto Dry Cycle
« on: September 08, 2008, 01:46:18 PM »

Ok here's the problem the dryer works fine when you put it in time dry but when it's in auto dry it runs forever and won't shut off.
This dryer doesn't have a moisture sensor it's controlled by the timer somehow.
I've already put a new timer in and cleaned all the duct work could it be the cycling thermostat? any help would be appreciated thanks

Model  SDE2606AYW

I would replace 503979 3-wire cycling thermostat first and if that didn't fix it then you will need another timer. My opinion

JW is correct, unless the vent is blocked and the unit is cycling on Hi-Limit, replace the cycling thermostat.

Check out the following techsheet for tips on checking the components on this model
