On second thought, you should just wait on the display, to be sure and still have the option to refund it.

Hi  Appliance Savers
Yes, the nice parts about Appliance Pros, it is returnable if all fails.  I did double check with them as that is where the first board(9761909)came from and I can keep it until the other board(9763042) arrives (which would make both returnable).  But I am going with you and the display board will do the trick.  And since the last post I began to think the display board is wonky, hence the weird error codes and weird broil numbers.  You have saved me lots and I have learned lots from you as well, Appliance Savers University for me has been great! :)  So I think best to wait and get the new board 267 shipping in, they have gone in price a bit now.  I know you see my posts, and you always take your time to respond, so I guess it is just a waiting game.

Your help is much appreciated

Yes the 244 is wonky, but the error codes are not wierd. The codes are key shorted error and keypad errors... attached is a tech sheet containing on page 5 the clock-code reference for your stove.
Thanks for update.

It is likely that your board is not even in the process of being built yet. If it takes this long, it's because they haven't found a company to build it. Ask them for their correspondents so that you may contact them. Then if no correspondents, ask them if they even found a remanufacturer yet. This process can take up to 6 months, possibly longer. After they find a company to build it, it shouldn't be more than 2 weeks.

I emailed AP again with those concerns in mind.  It will likely result in the same answer, no available date.  I may have to go to sending it for repairs.  The only thing about that is what do you think of repaired boards?  Are the boards not made by machines soldering on the components to the board.  Thus getting the parts removed and reinstalled could be difficult?  Any thoughts about repaired boards?

 :thanks:
Ron

It is actually easy to replace defective parts on control boards with the proper tools. It may be challenging to diagnose the malfunction though. If you send it in to a pro, I think the repaired board would be good as new. Ask dinosaur electronics if they will repair it or make a new one... they have a good reputation and use quality circuitry parts.

Is this "dinosaur electronics" in Lincoln City OR?   It seems they service RV type of ranges and fridges.  I expect To get an answer from appliance pros with the questions again.  I wonder if the board will ever reappear?
There are lots on ebay as refurbs (or maybe just used??)  So you can not be sure if they have been check or not.

Ok sorry I looked over their website, looks like they do Norcold and Dometic control boards and some other rv and boat products of the like... They may help you, but I don't  know... I went through them to repair an old dometic gas absorber board, but didn't realize they only worked the RV industry. I never do ebay or places with no reviews for replacement parts. I'm sure the board will be made for you but no telling how long if they have not found a remaker yet.

Interesting read about backorders.

I saw this on ebay and waiting to see if they respond, but it looks like once you buy you own the part, unlike Appliance Part Pros... you may return it does not correct issue.
What does ISO9000:2008 have to do with part refurbishment?
Also it has the part #9763042 & 9763042R ... What is the R for?
  Does this look reputable?

Any thoughts?  I am awaiting Appliance Parts Pro's answer too.

Well they have good feedback... 98% positive! and the board is half the price... what else can you do except wait with no ETA? Get the cheap board? I dont know. It could still be the keypad.

Still no reply from appliancepartpros as of yet!  I guess they are avoiding me.

As you said it may be the glass the touch, but as you said in an earlier post it likely is not the membrane.  So I will wait a few more days and roll the dice and try it.  It does not seem like there is any foreseeable making of this board.  I just want to keep you up to date... thanks for sharing your expertise.  Let you know when AP answers me.

 :thanks:

Here is AP latest response..............

That part does not have any set date to ship per the Manufacturer, so there is a good chance the advice you received from that tech is accurate. If you want to cancel the order, we can do that. I'm sorry about that.

I guess I am going to have to try the board from ebay site

http://www.ebay.com/itm/291435197719?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I guess I am in a rock and a hard place ......?
Looks like they have a good rep and this was their reply to me................

Thank you for contacting us. Only the defective parts gets replaced all part are tested and fully functional before they leave the warehouse. That part comes with a 6 month warranty and a 14 day return policy based on original shipping date

Thank you,
Customer Service

Dear partsimple,

Hello
1. Are known parts that often fail replaced when refurbished? Or just the defective part replaced?
2. Are these boards tested to function as new to specifications?
3. Is it returnable if the oven still does not work?
Thank You

 :thanks:

Ron

Looks like their return policy is nothing special.

Thank you for bringing that to my attention, I guess I should have looked a bit farther.  That is why the Appliance parts pro is good, new part and good return policy.  At 127$$ this may be cheaper than a rebuild..... a roll of the dice so to speak.
