I've been beta testing Windows 10 builds for Microsoft since last September. Seriously, it rocks. I'm definitely doing the upgrade.
Anybody with Windows 7 or Windows 8 will be able to upgrade to Windows 10 FREE! No strings. Besides, if you try it and decide it's not right for you, you can always go back to your old version of Windows.

I haven't decided yet. From what I understand, applications will only be available through Microsoft's app store. It seems too much like Apple.  If I install it, I might have to "jailbreak" it.

Windows 10 is what 8 should have been. Fast with features and apps. (yes, the only apps available are from Windows store, but it still runs most Windows compatible software) and (drum roll please) THE START MENU IS BACK! You can also have tiles on a start screen overlay. You get to decide. The new Edge browser works pretty well also.

To much like Apple?

I run all kinds of apps on my Macbook Pro that I did not get through the App store. You just have to give permission in your security setting to install non app store programs. If there is a app I want in the app store I usually check the developers website to see if I can get directly from them instead for a few reasons.

1. You get updates faster directly from the developer and sometimes extra features that the app store version don't have.
2. If it's a app I'm paying it cuts Apple out of the game as I'm paying the developer directly.

As for windows... I use windows 8.1 just because I have to for some things. Other wise I run Mac, but I'm excited to see what changes Microsoft brings with Windows 10.

I'm signed up for it on the recommendation of my brother who works in IT.  I don't use most of the features of 8 yet... might as well not use most of the features of 10...I will be glad to get the start menu back.

I have a windows 7 pro laptop that runs perfect right now.     Not going to upgrade until it is out for a while,   no matter how good it is there are still bound to be some bugs.     I might build a new computer this winter,  and if I do I'll put it on there.

If you click on the icon you can sign up to receive Windows 10 after it's released, July 31st.

I don't remember when it come out, but win 3.1 is what was out when I first got into computers.
My first computer I purchased used without a hard drive. I installed a hard drive and our local ISP at the time gave me a copy of win 3.1 to install on my computer.

Oh how things have changed.

Back then I did not even want to get a computer, but the wife did so....
Now it seems I'm attached to one 24/7/365
