wtw4850xq0 grinding when agitating. NOT DOGS.
« on: June 05, 2015, 09:29:32 PM »

So my washer (wtw4850xq0 whirlpool top loader) has been making an awful grinding sound while agitating and also clicking when it's in the spin cycle. I watched a video and checked the dogs in the agitator and they are fine. The agitator only moves in one direction like it's supposed to. Now what's my next step? I have no idea what I'm looking for but I want to fix it sooner than later.

Check the drive pulley system on the bottom of the washer. Take the plastic cover off and see if the pulley is loose or worn.
Part number is W10721967
