Matter of personal choice I guess. Unless I'm just using just my thumbs on a phone I prefer to type with all my fingers on a real keyboard vs a glass tablet.

I also really liked the anti glare screen of the Acer Chromebook vs the glass on the iPad.

Anyway just put up one of my old iPads for sale too. :)

Are they WiFi ready? Have the capability on my tablet to use it.  Do they have full functionality like a normal laptop?

Yes it has WiFi. I don't for sure know what you mean by "normal" laptop, but it does not have a CD drive and the operating system (OS) is Chromebook, not Windows nor can Windows be install on it.

Similar to tablets and smart phones you install apps/extensions on the Chromebook from the chrome store.

I use Google Remote Desktop with my Chromebook to connect and run my Macbook Pro that sits at home, works great for me.
