Hello Guys, I'm hoping someone here can help me with this issue. My fridge is almost 4 years old. I turned the breaker off in the kitchen to remove the stove hood so I could install a microwave over the stove at a later time. The power was only off for maybe 30-45 min. After I cleaned up my mess I saw 88 88 on the display. I had read to press the top two buttons at the same time and it would start working. Everything seemed to be working until I noticed both sides refrigerator/freezer were at 45 degrees. ( and defrosted ) I tried to unplug/rest several times, tried to unplug/plug harness at the door hinges, and tried to put it in diagnostic mode to get some type of code. I did manage to get one  error on the display '' PC ER ''  Although I am not an appliance repair man I have been a mechanic in automotive industry for several years.  I am a DIYER and, I also have a pretty good understanding of electricity. Please help

I do not know what pc er is, normal errors start with E and then a number. Does it say OFf in display?

No, it doesn't say anything. You can press the buttons and it will show the temp. which is not correct.

Samsungs do not always show the ACTUAL temp.... it would fluctuate too much. I would check for errors again, hold the top two buttons UNTIL it flashes ALL LEDS three times and beeps once. If no errors, check frost pattern

I have tired pressing the top two buttons numerous times. The unit goes into diagnostic mode 88 appears on both sides, the fridge side kinda flashes  from 88 82 with the ding dong of the bell. I have yet to see any other numbers come up other than a couple times PC er came up. I did pull the covers and check the frost pattern. The top 3 rows are frosted in the freezer the rest have nothing on them. The refrigerator side only the top row was frosted and it was thick. It seems that if one side is working the other isn't the freezer will get down to 32 degrees. The fridge never gets colder than 38 and 90 percent of the time  42 - 48  (I put thermometers in each side) A lot of times when I randomly open the door both sides will be at 45 degrees. I left the covers off that house the fans for a while and never saw the fans run.

I just went back down to check it and the refrigerator coils are all covered nicely and the fan had just stopped while I was looking at it.

Locate cn30 on the pcb. With everything on and running, measure DC voltage between purple and brown. Let me know what voltage you read.
