Wirlpool Dryer takes a couple of hours to dry after moving
« on: February 03, 2015, 08:16:48 AM »

I recently moved into a new house, I moved my Whirlpool WED5840SW0 from my old house into the new one.
After moving it takes forever to dry anything.
I had to put a new power cord onto the dryer since the outlet was different.
I plan on checking the heating element but I am also not sure if it's getting enough power.
Where are some test points and what voltages should I see at those points?
I also plan on checking the vent to make sure there are no obstructions.
Any other ideas?

Check your vent for warm air coming out. If no air, there's your problem.

Venting. If it is heating, no need to check anything. i assume its electric since the cord thing. IF IT IS ELECTRIC, remove vent an put on a panty hose for a load or two.... you will see :welcome:
