ice forms under the freezer drawer on my French door refrigerator. Every 1 to 2 weeks, I need to chip it all off so I can close the freezer door, only to have it reform again and again and again. A few days ago,our ice dispenser slowed down tremendously. Over the course of a full day, it probably produces about a dozen ice cubes, many fewer than it did a few short days ago. Here are my questions:

One. What is causing this problem?I am guessing something is frozen (no pun intended), but I have no idea where to start. I am pretty handy, but have never worked on the refrigerator before. Is this an easy repair or does it require a professional?

Two. How do I fix it?

Three: Are the two problems related?

Any help you can provide so I can avoid a high repair bill would be appreciated.

Frozen freezer evaporated drain, when it defrosts it comes outside of the ecap cover. I doubt the two are related
