LG Dryer DLE4801W Runs for 3 seconds and shuts off.
« on: January 13, 2015, 10:29:27 AM »

Dryer runs for about 3 seconds shuts off and restarts in about 30 secomds.  The dry light and cool light are both on.  On 60 minute timed cycle the timer runs down normally.  I think that the main control board is the culprit.  It acts like it's stuck in the final cool down regardless of what cycle is selected.  Also there is no code being shown.  Unplugging for a few minutes has helped in the past but now it's not.  Has anyone run across this before.  Before I replace the board I'd like a second opinion.

Thanks

I agree! It "blinks" what it is doing at that time.  If it is "cooling " it will be blinking that. Kind of sounds like wrinkle guard ha

My DLG2102W is doing the same exact thing. What fixed it? I would hate to spend $140 on a control board only to find out it is the gas solenoid.

I replaced the control board and it's working correctly.  Make sure that you get the main board.  There is a board that is the touch pad.  The main board is under the console.  Remove the 4 screws on the back of the console and tip it forward.  The board I replaced lays flat on the dryer body.  2 screws hold the cover on.  All of the connections are color coded and unique to the connectors.  An easy repair.  Hope this helps.  Don.

EBR71725801   Note: It took close to 2 months for the board to come in.  That's one of the troubles with LG, Samsung etc.

I buy my parts through Marcone.  They have a local store and I have an account.  2 months ago no one had that part.  Now they do.

Just for future debuggers the control board for my model DLG2102W is EBR33640906 and is in stock here

Similar to Caddy's it is separate from the touchpad.
I will give it a shot and let you know. Thanks for the quick responses!

Replacing the control board did the trick! It has been working fine for a few days now. The only downside was the part was supposedly in stock yet took 3 days to finally ship.?  Just to reiterate for the search engines.... gas dryer shut off after 3 seconds then turned back on after 30 seconds and repeated this seemingly forever and if you stopped it... it would not start back up again for about an hour. Unplugging it seemed to help sometimes. All the sensors checked out fine. Thanks again for all the quick responses!!!
