Maytag centennial commercial washer"mvwc400xw2" cycle problems
« on: January 11, 2015, 01:06:51 PM »

It first started with the washer not spinning so I did the test and fault code for" drive system shifter" so I repaced the shifter assembly & it worked for three days then stopped working again...Now I get code"drive system motor" & the washer spins but it doesn't go through the wash cycle correctly...I know after spin cycle it will fill with water & stop with the spin light on & the lid unlocked with light blinking..I'm starting to think it's the "main control panel"..

Help please!!

Have found a fair number of wire problems in these washers.  Before investing in a board, I'd check everything in the harness to the motor, actuator and latch/lock for continuity.

I'd suspect a starting to fail capacitor. It requires a proper tolerance one to agitate correctly. It may spin "okay" but fault on agitate

I tested the resistance of motor windings on connector and it was in the range it said it should be so the service tech book said to bypass testing the continuity from harness & ohms from motor & go straight to tesg the capacitor...

you and me both. Under no load you have continuity. Under load it creates an open circut.
I have replaced a few main wiring harnesses for intermintent issues.
