Jerry,

You are my hero!  I had not thought of leaving the power on.  After disconnecting and reconnecting at the PCB, the error was still flashing, but I could turn the dishwasher off.  It's running a cycle right now, and so far, is a complete success!  Thanks for saving the day and sparing me additional scorn from my wife :).

I went ahead and ordered that control panel, so I should be able to get this thing 100% functional with the power button after that.  Disassembling this thing is not my favorite pastime, so if it dies again, I think I'll be going shopping...

Thanks again for the help and updated progress.

/Adam

It worked for me. After disconnecting and reconnecting it, the display stopped working completely. Then I turned the breaker off and back on and then it started to work like normal. The key to doing this is that the power has to stay on while you unplug that wire. But in my case, after doing this step, I had to turn the breaker off and back on.

Note for me it was actually the FOURTH connector from the left. You will know its the right one when the control panel lights go off..

THANKS FOR SAVING ME $$$!!!

UPDATE from last year's repair... After I fixed it and commented in my post last year, the CE still came on from time to time. Then I realized whenever I wanted to fix it I had to slam the door really hard then power it off with the touch button and back on. This ends up shaking the control connector into place and allows the machine to work properly. So it seems to me that there are two brains in this machine. One on the base of the machine, which is the main brain, and the other one is the control brain, which tells the main brain what buttons are being pressed in the top. I can probably open up the top door panel and find out where this loose connection is and fix it but I'm just too lazy to do it because I find it easier to just slam, power off and on and use the machine. But I believe CE stands for control error. if I do get around to opening it up and fixing it properly I'll repost another update. I hope this helps anybody who has the same situation. And also thanks to all who have helped me get to this point.
