Is there another solution besides purchasing a complete evaporator when the refrigerator or freezer side defrost heater fails

Samsung's official service bulletin originally said to solder in a new evaporator, but then they later came out with a service bulletin that said to buy the whole evaporator, and swap out just the heater part.

I have always puchased a new evap and bent each and every fin. Never brazed in a new evap. The cost is very reasonable. Believe me. 60 bucks or so? Be glad you own a sammy and not a domestic!

True that domain.  I don't think any techs ever put in the whole evaporator.  They we like, "Yeah right!," and just swapped out the heater part.

I've had a few solder in a new one even though I left comments on the call not to...
