dryer lights all on wont turn off cant adjust wont run
« on: December 30, 2014, 06:51:35 PM »

Hi there,

So we changed the fuse on our whirlpool duet dryer, but now after being put all together again, the entire control panel is lite up but nothing is working and you cannot change any settings.  Help?  No dryer here now for over a week.  yikes. :-\

Hi, oh thank you thank you for replying to me.  The initial issue was that it was not running, lights on, but no running.  My hubby looked on internet and found out that  it seemed like it was a fuse.

It was a thermal fuse we replaced, after narrowing it down on this actual site.

We may have screwed something up during the process of replacing the fuse, when we first plugged it back in nothing was coming on, no lights at all, now they are on and wont turn off and the dryer wont work. :tickedoff:

Hi there,

Okay, so I just went an plugged the dryer in, and today no lights on the panel are coming on, but the inside light is on when the door is open and off when the door is shut, so unfortunately I dont think its that easy.   :'(

I have a tech sheet.Do test Number 2 motor test circuit. You have to access the machine control board. And unplug the P connector and do a ohms test.P8-4 and P9-1you should measure 1 to 6 ohms. This test the door switch, thermal fuse,Drive motor, centrifugal switch belt.If your 1 to 6 ohms thats means all those components are good and machine board is bad.Make sure you have 230 volts.I have a video that i will post of about the same dryer but it as a different board so the wire testing numbers are different. So if you don,t have 1to 6 ohms then any one of those same components could be bad.Keep the dryer door shut when doing this test.Make sure you unplug that p connector like in video.Remember that video he is testing the same circuit put at different connectors.Follow test Number2 in the test sheet. Also if you buy any parts from appliance parts pro.com and does not fix your problem you can return it less shipping.
