How do i remove Samsung evap panel?
« on: November 07, 2014, 08:57:51 AM »

General question for Samsung French door refrigerators.

When the fresh food section evaporator is iced up, how do you take the panel out?  I use a steamer to try to melt some ice, but it's never complete.  I've destroyed quite a few panels by forcing it out.

What am I doing wrong?  How is it suppose to be done?

When the ice freezes to the panel it can be tough to remove. I use a set of plastic panel remover tools from Harbor Freight to ease the panel out. I try to work slowly so I don't destroy the panel or rip the evap out causing an even bigger problem.

If it's really bad, I'll tell the customer to unplug the fridge and let it defrost. I come back the next day to diagnose the problem.

Never met one I could not steam off within an hour. I've had them fully iced, not frosted caused by a clogged drain, tight Evap cover seals and a proper defrost causing the water to build up. Steam
