Maytag stackable washer not working
« on: October 10, 2014, 12:32:26 AM »

My Maytag stackable washing machine stopped working mid cycle.  It is not the breaker.  It just won't even turn on on any position of the button.

There is a fuse inside the washer front left panel. If it is blown you will need a new lid switch, check switch, and fuse. I use a 22001682 and it much cheaper and has all the parts on it.

How do I access where the switch is.  The panel has the buttons - should I pull it out?  or do I reach it from underneath?

Sorry ,front panel on the washer. Not the control panel. Usually 2 Phillips screws hold the panel on about 5 inches up from the bottom on each side 1 inch in. Note POWER OFF to machine before testing.

HI there,
Finally got to the spot you told me where the fuse it.  The diagram was very helpful - thanks for that.  The point is that someone had already bypassed that fuse and connected the two cables together - no fuse....  So now... not sure what to do...
You've been great and really appreciate your help.

Install a fuse when you get done, The part number I stated above comes with a fuse and holder and both switches.

Also a fuse blown would only kill power to water valve.

But the cause of a blown fuse is normally a check switch, and that would make it dead.
