Any other Samsung Galaxy S5 owners/Android fans in our forum?
« on: September 20, 2014, 10:45:20 AM »

Well after owning two iPhone over the last four years I decided to jump ship and try a Galaxy S5 this time around.

Have only had it for a week so far, but have really been enjoying it.

Been reading up on this android forum to learn what I can about Androids and the Galaxy S5.
http://www.androidcentral.com/

Do we have any other Galaxy S5 or Android fans out there in our forum?

Here sir! I just upgraded to the Galaxy S5 active. Love it. I also upgraded my daughter from the iphone to the Galaxy. I had to deal with the "apple Nazi's" to make the switch. Apple wanted $19.99 just to talk to a technician. I called AT&t and they helped me for free.

Been looking for a all in one back up solution for my Galaxy, kind of like the iPhone had with the iClould.

Just found this and started playing with it.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2. It's old technology.  But still pretty awesome.  Before this I had Motorola phones and they were ok. I'm very impressed with Samsungand all the work they put into their phones and versions of android.

I had Android phones forever and when company bought Metro PCS had a choice of poor service or go to another service. Apple 5S for a year and it's very good and does in fact work well with my iPad. Just answered my phone on my iPad as phone was on the charger and it worked great! Don't know how it did it but who cares.

Anybody else have a Google Nexus 5?  It's my first smart phone, got it last December.  It cost $350, unlocked.  Right now I have unlimited everything on Metropcs, which uses the T-mobile network.  I'm thinking of switching over to Cricket on the At&t network. It'll save me money, my whole family of 4 will be $90 per month. On Metropcs, I'm paying $105 for 3 of us.

I pay around $100 a month for my service for business alone. Wife and son cost another $100 a month using Metro. I have Verizon.

The samsung version of Find my iPhone, except with a few more options.
http://findmymobile.samsung.com/

Actually had to use Find my Iphone to locate my sons lost phone one day.
Ended up finding it along the side of his car seat, lol...

Was kind of funny as he drove back from school one morning because he thought he left his phone at home. He could not find it at home so he went back to school. I logon to Find My Iphone and track it leaving home, refresh the page a few minutes later and the map shows his phone in the school parking lot. I go look and find it along side his car seat. Slipped out of his pocket and along side the seat, lol...

Found something that seems even better then FindMyMoble.Samsung

Been playing with this for the last half hour and it has a lot of features to help you recover your phone if it's ever lost or stole. Even if the thief replaces the sim card! Really amazing stuff and all for free!

I use Avast mobile security. It has the same type features as Androidlost.
I had an iphone before and I prefer the Android.

Have had my S5 for about 3 months now.   Great phone,   I initially didn't want to get it because it was so big.   But I have an Otter case for it and it clips nicely on my belt.     Case cost me 50 bucks but it was well worth it.     Other thing I like about it other that the easy to read display is the battery.    I can go up to 3 days without charging it,   while my old phone I was charging 3 times a day.

I have a couple of neat items for the phone - bluetooth headphones and a little bluetooth speaker.    If I'm working in a apartment bld or other places where I'm alone,   I can play some music while I work.     I have I heart radio on the phone,  and it works pretty good.    If a phone call comes in,  I can answer,  and when I hang up goes right back to the music.

Yea, after using my Galaxy s5 for awhile now I don't think I could ever go back to a smaller screen on a phone.
My wife will hand me her iPhone 5 to do something on it for her and I'm like, darn your phone is so small, lol...

I looked at the iPhone 6 but it and the Galaxy is too big for me. My Wife has a galaxy 5 and  really likes it. I look at it and say I am not watching a movie on it so don't really need it that big.

I am waiting on my samsung note4 to ship about 7-10 days. I have the note 1. I like the larger screens for looking up parts. Prefer the notes for the stylus. Use square up on mine people like signing with the stylus instead of finger

I agree AJ.    My wife had an HTC phone - keyboard started going bad.   I couldn't believe how small the writing and text was after using the S5.    She needed a new phone and when we went in she was looking at the I phone 5.    She liked the S4.   A little smaller than the S5,   but she is used to it now.  Loves it.    I don't think I can go back to a smaller phone now at all.    I have big hands and it is easier to use the touch screen.  I had a couple of friends who are died in the wool  Iphone users and kept telling me to get an Iphone.    After they saw my S5,  all but one said they like it better than their phone.

One other thing on the phone. - I love the speak into phone to text feature.     Works way better than my old phone.    Plus,  my old phone was 3G and this is 4G.   What a difference in speed.      Oh,  by way,  I installed  a 64 meg SanDisk class 10 Micro SD card in mine,   and it can store alot.    Picture resolution is amazing also.I have all my default storage set to go on the SD card.   Keeps the phone memory from getting too stuffed up.   Check out the link below

Yea, a few days after getting my galaxy s5 I also got a microSD card for it. I do more and more stuff on my phone all the time. From the time I wake up until I put it back on the charger at night I usually log 5-6 hours of screen time.
