FRIGIDAIRE Refrig Side by Side - Refrig Side too Cold??
« on: August 20, 2014, 04:19:04 PM »

I have a friend of mine who has asked to take a look at his Frigidaire Stainless Steel Fridge Side by Side Model #FRS23H5ASB5 says the Fridge is getting too cold. 26' Degrees. He said he already changed both Cold Controls, New Damper and New Automatic Defrost Module. I Put a thermometer in the Fridge Side and turned the Cold Control all the way up no matter what setting I put it on its stays at 26' Degrees on the Fridge side????? Freezer side is -8' Degrees.

I also notice there is an open square at the bottom left hand corner in back that looks like a damper maybe (I don't know if) it allows air to flow into the Freezer or out of the the Freezer to Fridge, should this have a cover or is he missing something? Should I try to block this off?

I'm not exactly sure but if it has a damper controle by cold controle it doesn't seem like it would hurt to block this other point off to see what happens.   I will look at some Frigidaire s x s in the morning and get back too you.

Also I would go back to basics. Is the refrigerator running all the time. If you adjust cold controle  down do the fans and compressor shut off if not could be a cold control issue.  Forget about what was said to  be changed.  If you unplug the fridge does the damper close.  If not could be a damper problem still.
