Yep just saw your picture. It is your light lense for drum light

Thank you very much for the detailed explanation, makes complete sense! I poked my head inside of the drum and couldn't find where the light lense goes (I'm hopeful you can provide insight on this, and that it will just snap back into place). The funny thing is that I don't recall ever seeing a light within my dryer, so I'm guessing the bulb has always been burned out. Is this a hardware store item or do I need to buy it from an appliance website? I also just noticed the 2nd snap ring you speak of, and it looks like it's in great shape (has a nice silver color to it). The broken snap ring was very rusted for some reason. I'm tempted to replace the "good" snap ring anyway as it's <$2, and I don't want to do this job again lol. The center of the blower wheel looks more like a circle than a D, so yeah, guessing it's just flat-out worn out =P.

Thanks,

I'm at work right now and will take a gander when I get home. Hopefully, I can just snap my current one back in place as $17.74 for a little piece of plastic is wicked expensive! =P The one you linked does indeed look like it's the wrong part when comparing it to the 2 pictures I posted =/. I just checked AppliancePartsPros and I agree, it doesn't show a light cover anywhere! I swear I stuck my head in there a few days ago and even went so far as to feel around with my hand and I couldn't feel any exposed openings where a cover could go. I'll be more thorough this evening!

That does indeed resemble the part I took a picture of. Google Shopping produces zero results, looks like it may no longer be purchasable =(. That said, I still have no friggin idea where it goes lol.

Yeah, I know, that's why I've been stumped! It appeared when I was cleaning out the area beneath the drum when I only had the lower cover off (I hadn't yet dismantled the bulkhead/blower assembly etc.). I'll take a look at your links in a few mins.

This part can no longer be purchased anywhere at this point, so I'm going to try to snap it back into place, and if that fails, I'm going to super glue it and forgo having a functional light (I've never used it anyway) =P.

I'll be purchasing the parts this evening online when I get home from work. I need to make sure my list is complete =). I'll be sure to respond to this thread once everything has been reassembled and working properly!

Mystery solved regarding the plastic cover!! It goes on the top of the washing machine's tub/basin (this image led me to its location: http://cdn-d.appliancepartspros.com/0028542234_4.gif). I'm afraid I'll never figure out how this !@#$!@ thing ended up inside my dryer drum LOL. My only hair-brained guess is that the prior owner (or perhaps technician) accidentally left it the dryer's innards and my shop-vac brought it to the surface =P. I find it hilarious that it goes into the top of the washer because it provides absolutely no viewing aid into the washing machine's tub, it's covered/obscured by the washing machine's top cover panel!! Here are 2 pictures (one zoomed out, one zoomed in) of where it goes:

I suppose my next question is how to take washer's cover off so I can glue this worthless sucker into place =P.
