So guys I came across a ge washer the other day; a machine I have not ever worked on; it had a kick plate on the bottom like a dryer would have.  Sounded like a hammer. googled it did not fined much info, sometimes changing helix worked sometimes not(I know they make a after market helix).
I went down to my local hardware store and bought a washer that would fit over the spline and teeth. It pushes the clutch and brake up the needed space that it has dropped.
It has worked fine but I will test it more.
please give info if this works for you.
there is not a lot of info on this particular problem(other than a transmission change) so i hope this helps some people.
