Frigidaire GLHS37EHSB7 Electronics control diagnostics
« on: April 15, 2014, 01:12:47 AM »

This refrig is freezing everything in the refrigerator. Customer seems to think problem started after replacing a leaking water filter. Damper is half way open and flashing # 4. Did the electronics diagnostics test and both thermistors showed to be good. AS well as all the others tests in the diagnostics. Removed damper and connected it directly to 115vac in the wall outlet. Damper cycled closed then back open since the motor is just a rotary motor. Not sure about the function of the small switch on the damper. Was looking for the resistance values on the thermistors but could not definitely identify the correct service manual nor did I find any thermistor values. I believe they should be 10k at room temp. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am not that familiar with this control system. my thinking is it is either the thermistor or control but would like to be sure as the control is somewhat expensive.
Thanks for and advice.

replace the control board and the damper assembly...common problem...frig. claims that if the damper hangs open it will cause the flashing fours...
by unplugging the unit and plug it back in the unit will run fine..you will probly need the board,,it will come with a flow chart for checking out the unit

Thanks for reply, I figured I needed to replace the control board but did not know if I needed to replace the damper. Flashing 4 is only on refrig side . Customer thinks refrig is cooling ok now after I worked on it the other day but it is still flashing 4 on refrig side but customer says it is not freezing milk now.
