OK guys, here's one for the books . . . the Frigidaire guy has hit a head scratcher on a Frigidaire! Got a call on this unit, no drain/spin. Found drain pump shot (bearings wasted). Replaced pump, set machine into diagnostic mode and all worked well INCLUDING spin in diagnostic mode. Didn't test in a regular cycle since I figured that was it so headed to next call.
Customer called back next day and said no spin. I asked if she saw any flashing/beeping answer was no. So I went out and ran in drain/spin cycle. No spin, no code flash. Ran in test mode and it spins, but then at very end of test it threw a code 43 which is a simple "BAD MAIN CONTROL BOARD, REPLACE MAIN CONTROL BOARD" in chart with no tests. Have had this numerous times, soooo I ordered the control, replaced it and to my dismay received same code in test cycle and no spin in regular cycles.
So, went through checks of motor windings and tacho-generator and all fell within parameters (tacho was 120 ohms, range 103-130; windings all were exactly 6.1 ohms. Though range is 4 - 6 ohms, I figured that 0.1 ohm falls within the usual +/- 10% variance you usually allow on measurements) All wires/plugs check out good, so I think it is motor control board.
Has anyone had a similar issue? I haven't seen a board diagnostic be wrong like that in two boards? Strange!
