Maytag Se1000 lid error
« on: April 08, 2014, 03:06:03 PM »

I have a 20 year old maytag stacker set SE1000.  has worked great for many years.  Recently it wouldn't start wash.  error code "L"  which indicates lid not closed when in fact it was.  could jiggle the lid and it would start.  a week ago it had same error coed but no amount of jiggling worked.  I replaced the switch, didn't work.  Tried to just wire across the switch.  still doesn't work.  any ideas would be much appreciated.  thx

I have over the years seen where the umbilical cord ( between washer and dryer ) have a pin come loose from vibration. Check to make sure the connector is firmly in place on the washer and no loose pins on the connector.
