Kenmore Elite cooktop Control board connection help
« on: March 13, 2014, 12:08:11 AM »

I have a kenmore elite electric cooktop model # 790.46603500.
I recently replaced one of the heating elements and while putting back all the things back together, forgot two connections. I haven't put it back together yet since I don't want to make wrong connection and fry the board or anything else.
there are two connectors with 4 pins each and they go next to each other - just not sure which one goes where. One connector has a single RED wire and the other connector has Black and white wires. on the board it say P11 and P13.. Can someone please help which connector goes where?

Thanks!

Here is the wiring diagram I come up with for that model.

I do have the diagram. But I can't understand it. Hence in my original post I included the picture with the connections in question.
Thanks for the quick reply.

Does your model have a warming oven? Can you find J6 on the board?

Could those wires go to the warming drawer? Trace them to the source. See where they go.

I used a much simpler way to figure out which connector goes to which pin. I checked the scratches on the pins; since 1 connector had 1 wire, it was easy to decipher which connection went to what pin. I even replaced the infinity switch and the cook top is working great now.

thanks for the quick replies all. Appreciate the help.
