Front loiadind maytag wsher would not start
« on: February 17, 2014, 10:13:12 PM »

My customer's Maytag front loading washer, tested ok on manual analysing.Hot & cold water would come in,tumble, drain & spin. The only cycle that works is the "spin".All other cycles.when I press the start button, the "add a garment"lite comes on for fraction of a second.then all the lites go off, including the "power".Nothing works.Almost like pressing the "cancel" button.I have no clue! Please help!model # MHDSR165f0ww (or fooww). The fault code was F24 which says the water temperature sensor has problem.

Look for a broken wire at the rast connector going to the temp sensor .Just fixed a washer with the identical symptoms and code .I had an old machine that I could cannabalize the part from but you could also put two 1/8 inch spades on the wires and that should solve your problem .

Hello Rah52,thank you for your hint.It was the broken wire at the sensor on the back of the wash tub.The wire was very small and broke right at the harness.I repaired the wires and taped it up so that there is no stress on the wires. Thanks a lot for your hint.
