LG DLG2302 Gas Odor during heat cycle only inside drum
« on: January 03, 2014, 11:00:01 PM »

A few days ago, I noticed the odor of gas when I opened the dryer to remove clothes. It's very prominent when the heat cycle is running, not as much when it's cooling, and non-existent outside of the drum.

I've checked the vent and it's completely clear, I've checked all gas connections and they're tight. Dryer has been in use for 3+ years and hasn't been moved.

LG wants $90 to have a service tech "examine" the dryer, but I can't imagine there are too many possible solutions to this problem, but I could use a hand as I've never done any dryer repair before.
