Streamlight Stylus Pro LED Pen Flashlight
« on: December 29, 2013, 01:04:58 PM »

Ordered one of these back in Sept. and have been using it daily ever since. So much better then having the old maglight on my belt and just as handy as having a pen in your shirt pocket.

Streamlight Stylus Pro LED Pen Flashlight

At first I found it a little difficult to turn on, but after some searching online I found this mod.
http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-make-a-Streamlight-Stylus-Pro-easier-to-tur/

Very light weight so it does not add much of any weight to my shirt pocket, yet extreme well built.
I have drop it a number of times well it was off and on. Never a flicker out of it.

Just ordered another one to keep in my jacket pocket.

Seen these in NAPA the other day. For what it's worth the Stylus Pro is still going strong. It has yet to fail me or even give me a flicker when turning it on, unless the batteries are about to die. ;)

I have been feeding it Envelop AAA Rechargeable Batteries since last Dec. Like the batteries so much I run them in everything I have that takes AA & AAA batteries.

I get a lot of comments on the flashlight about how bright it is. Don't know about you, but I get asked a lot, "Do you need a flashlight?".
Impress a lot of people when I say, "No thanks, I have one" and then pull out what looks like a pen in my pocket and light things up. :D

Having this flashlight in my front shirt pocket is just as handy as having a pen in my shirt pocket.

I got a blue Stylus Pro that I keep in my jacket pocket and I just ordered another black one tonight.

Love all the different colors they come in, but the black one has just a bit more grip to it's finish then my blue one.
Thinking of dipping my black one into a can of Plasti-Dip Rubber Coating.

What are the other Streamlights you own?

Did you end up with the 48 lumens one or the newest 65 lumens version?

Streamlight just updated the Stylus Pro from 48 to 65 lumens.
http://www.streamlight.com/en-us/product/product.html?pid=133

The last one I just ordered (have three of these now) happen to be the new 65 lumens version.
I can't tell much difference in brightness between the two (48 vs 65 lumens) but there is a big difference in the beam patters.

The new 65 lumens version is more of a flood light with less throw compared to my old 48 lumens ones.

The additional flood of light is great for working on things at arms length, but when your trying to light something up further then about 12 feet away it's not as great as the old 48 lumens version that has a lot more throw.

Just curious if you noticed what it said on your package, 48 lumens or 65 lumens.

The old 48 lumens had been coming with a extra rubber tail cap cover. Seem the new 65 lumens version will no longer include a extra rubber tail cap cover.

Mine is the 48 lumens , comes with the extra tail piece and nylon belt holder .One thing is for sure this thing is quality ,I don't think I'll wear it out ...hopefully won't lose it either .I'm a self confessed tool junkie and will gladly pay the extra for a quality product .Its one of my only vices .

I use the Fenix LD20 flashlight. 320 lumens if desired and is waterproof  uses 2 AA's. Customers are always asking me about it.

Seem to have lost my Streamlight Stylus Pro so I was on Amazon looking to order another one and seen it listed as not 65 lumens, but 90!

Did a little research to see if it was a typo on Amazon and found this.
http://www.streamlight.com/static/document/info_sheet_with_part_numbers/stylus-pro_sup.pdf

Looks like around the beginning of the year Streamlight gave the light another update. They have since gone from 48 to 65 and now 90 lumens. All with keeping the same run time on a set of AAA batteries.

Not all of them on Amazon show it listed as the new 90 lumens version. Here is the link I ordered mine from.
