Oven Does Not Stay On
« on: December 29, 2013, 11:25:59 AM »

Kenmore Model 911.41065791

The oven turns off after 15 minutes. I can turn it back on, but it stays on for a shorter time, I can turn it on again but it immediately turns off. No error codes. I suspect the temperature sensor. Some times the oven will stay on a long time. The temperature seems reasonable. Could there be any other causes? I unplugged the sensor to see if the connection looked dirty. It was clean.

How can I test the sensor? I could remove the sensor and heat it to a known temperature aand then check for voltage or resistance.

When it doesn't stay on, what does it do? Does it act like it preheated or does the display go blank.  It sounds to me like the control board is bad.  The part number is WB27K5273.  It's no longer available but it can be rebuilt.
