Model #FEQ1442ES0, the dryer would start to rotate, but would immediately stop and beep when the start button was pressed. Since the voltage to the motor on this unit is controlled by a relay on the control board, I decided to use my meter to check the voltage into and out of the relay when a cycle was started. I found 115vac going into the relay, but when the start button was pressed, the relay would close (you can hear the click) only for a brief moment before it would open up again. Relays are switching devices that allow a lower voltage to turn a higher voltage on and off and are often used in electronic controlled appliances to turn on and off motors, heating elements, or anything else the board controls. The relay on this unit is actually OK, but the control itself is not keeping the relay closed (or latching it) so this dryer now has a new control board
installed to make sure it will run and start properly.
