LG LDS4821ST dishwasher problems
« on: August 22, 2013, 10:55:07 PM »

Problem: began with no water, unit appeared to have completed the "normal" cycle. Found dirty dishes and undisolved detergent pack in the bottom of tank. Ran again to see if it would repeat--it did. There were no error codes. Was able to fire the fill solenoid in Diagnostic mode and get water in tank. tried to run again and it began to run normally (filled). Now after counting down from 205--somewhere around 40 minutes remaining the unit stops and I get He error. Per LG I tried shutting off the breaker for a reset. After restoring line voltage all runs have stopped about the same placein the cycle with the He error. have been powering off and back on and running the rinse only, this gets dishes clean but they are wet. I know this indicates the heater circuit. Questions I have are: Is there any way the no water problem (now gone) and this He error have something in common? Should a no water stituation have triggered an error? LG says that the water in the first wash fill gets heated to somewhere above 100 F, if so shouldn't the He error come before nearly an hour and a half of run time?

If the heater unit is fine, replace the control board.  The part number is EBR33469404  There is a service bulletin about this issue.
