How do I remove foil from Kitchenaid oven, burned on
« on: July 03, 2013, 09:19:27 PM »

Hello everyone, I have a Kitchenaid range that some foil got burned onto the bottom of the oven.  Does anyone know how I can get it off?  Whirlpool customer service said the only thing I could use is a wooden spoon.  My customer is afraid to use anything like a razor blade scrapper for fear it will scratch the bottom of her oven.  If anyone know how I can get this off please let me know.  Thank You, Tom

Try putting a really wet cloth on it for a while. Then I would use the razor blade scraper.

I've heard that putting tomato catsup on the foil and letting is set/soak for 24 hours makes removal a cinch. (I've never tried it personally though)

Thanks for the tip.  I called my customer and told her what you said.  she never called back to let me know if the ketchup worked or not.  I'll let you know.
