Did i understood you rite that you change out the heater and sen d the evaporater to the aluminum cycle

Yes, I don't change the evaporator just for a bad heater.  Why turn a $100 job into a $600 job if it's not necessary. I've only run into one bad Samsung heater. I don't remember the model number but I was only able to get the defrost heater with the evaporator.  It was fairly easy to remove the heater from the new evaporator and install it on the old evaporator.  I broke the copper stubs off of the new evaporator and put it in with my cans for recycling.

I think you can get the heater by its self for most models now no need to break into the system or do what tgoods said
