Kenmore Washer Not Spinning
« on: May 18, 2008, 07:42:18 AM »

Model #110.20992991, this washer operated fine until it reached the spin cycle where it would drain, but the basket would not spin. Thinking it had a clutch problem, I rotated the timer to begin a spin cycle, and then tried to spin the basket by hand to give it a little help. If you can spin the basket by hand both ways, this is a sure sign of a bad clutch, but this one took off spinning and started making a thumping noise that sounded like something was stuck between the basket and the tub. After removing the tub ring, I found the fill hose from the valve assembly (this unit has five valves) had broken off and somehow made its way into the tub and prevented the basket from spinning. After removing the hose, the unit started spinning great and after replacing the tub ring (the hose comes with the entire ring) this washer now works again.
