maytag does not agitate

Washer model # LAT9800AAL, fills with water, spins and drains, does not agitate.
During the wash cycled the timer does not advance and the washer does not make any sounds.
Advice? Thanks

Sounds like bad timer if no noise, looks like your machine take part # 435876 may be on back order.

Remove this SWITCH from the lid switch assembly and check the small red button to see if it pop out.
 It is spring loaded and should pop out and you should hear a click.
