Title: Kenmore washer leaking
Post by: wildimaginations on November 10, 2011, 05:06:06 AM

I got a call to check on a leaking washer.  Found some serious problems with this one.
The wiring looked fine, it was only the hoses and the plastic pump housing.

Notice the impeller vane was also chewed out as well.

I wonder if the rodent has stomach indigestion.

Got a smile on my face.    It looks to me,  that the cause of this will be back when the new is installed.   Its not a mouse,  its bigger.  That is more than a meal.  I like this post.  Brent@CanBC

That happens sometimes down here in times of real dry spells especially on dishwashers but I have
seen washing machine hoses eaten mostly from folk that live out in the country. Jeez. That one must have been in a storage facility.
That rat had a of time on his hands.

Are you going to repair it or did they go and buy a new washer?

Quoted the guy $620.00 to repair it.  He's thinking about it right now.

Nah, this is a $1k machine.  The parts costs me around $200.00.  The model #11027086603 (http://www.repairclinic.com/Kenmore-Washing-Machine-Model-11027086603-ID-699311-Parts)

I quoted him $480.00 in parts + $140.00 labor.  I'M NOT CHEAP!!!

The customer just called in and says to go ahead and order the parts so I will be seeing him next week.
