Title: Whirlpool Gold GI5SVAXVL01....HELP !!!
Post by: thendrix101010 on October 17, 2011, 10:10:47 AM
I have a Whirlpool Gold French Door Refrigerator, my ice maker just stopped producing ice. After reading a couple trouble shooting pages, I replaced my filter. My water supply has increased in pressure and is still coming to door however still no water going into freezer.  I can feel where part of the tray has water in spaces and is frozen near back of ice tray but it will not dump out.  Prior to this you could hear  a clicking sound when the ice was getting ready to dump ....any suggestions as to how to reset it or what I should do....I have already unplugged it and tried that way

I can't find anything on that model number. Can you double check it.
Make sure you get the full model number from the model/serial number tag from inside the refrigerator and not the owners manual.

Maybe a ice jam, one thing you could try is hit it with a hair dryer till it goes into harvest and keep at it till it dumps.

Are you getting it from the tag inside the refrigerator?
Can you post a photo of the tag?

I tried loosening the ice in the tray w/ a hair dryer to see if it would prompt the emptying of tray and still nothing...I don't know if water supply hose in ice maker is frozen or not, I cannot see  or feel it...also tube on top of fridge for water supply does not seem frozen...

I have updated your topic to include the correct model number, thanks!

You could pull the refrigerator out. Unplug it and then remove the water line from the water inlet valve that goes to the ice maker. Then try to blow air through it.

If you can blow air through it then you know the line is not frozen shut. If you are sure the water line to the ice maker is not frozen shut and you can hear the water valve click on when guess the water valve needs to be replaced.

If you have a volt meter and know how to use it you could see if you are getting voltage to the water valve. If you are getting voltage and the water line to the ice maker is not blocked then I would replace the water valve.

Your model refrigerator uses water valve part # 67006322

The one on top should go to the ice maker.
The one under the door hinge should go to the water dispenser in the door.

Any luck on this one? I've got the same issue, as well as the temperature control no longer working for the refrigerator. Set at 46, internal temperature is hovering around 32.
Not sure if the two are related or not.
Machine is not even 2 years old.

I got mine fixed. The issue was the motor that rotates the "fingers" to push the ice out of the maker into the holder tray. The refrigerator apparently goes into cooling mode when the dump happens, and when my motor went out, it apparently stayed in the cooling mode dropping the temperature in the refrigerator.
The part is ~$100.00
