Title: LG Dryer Error code 19:HO???
Post by: jspillz on October 10, 2011, 08:33:26 AM
LG gas dryer model DLG2524W (http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=omv7WULuxaw&subid=0&offerid=225193.1&type=10&tmpid=2111&RD_PARM1=http&RD_PARM2=%253A%252F%252Fwww.appliancepartspros&RD_PARM3=.com%252Fpartsearch%252Fmodel.aspx%253Fmodel_id%253D5520717), problem is burner stays on only 5-10 seconds after starting cycle, then shuts off. After reading posts and manual, I replaced the gas valve which did not solve the problem. I tested all of the thermostats/thermistor which are OK. With the diagnostic test I get 19:HO as the first code. Is that the model number? When doing the gas valve test, I get about 50 VAC at either coil when it should be 90 VAC. The first thing it says is Check thermostat, Hi limit Safety, which is OK. Is this a controller board problem like the manual suggests? I don't want to throw any more money at it without knowing for sure!
Thanks for the help.

Hey, it's me again. After reading more about the service manual typo's, I need to go back and check my voltages again on the gas valve, DC NOT AC!

Check your venting.  It may be shutting off due to overheating.

The venting is clean and clear, I usually clean it out 1-2 times a year. Thanks.

It sounds like you have a bad flame switch.  The switch is located on the left side of the burner chamber next to the ignitor.  When the ignitor heats up enough, the flame switch turns on the burner valve.  If it is bad, it will turn off the burner valve as if the gas didn't ignite and starts up the cycle again.

The part number is #AP4443773 (http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=omv7WULuxaw&subid=0&offerid=225193.1&type=10&tmpid=2111&RD_PARM1=http&RD_PARM2=%253A%252F%252Fwww.appliancepartspros&RD_PARM3=.com%252FAppliance-Parts%252Flg-sensor-assembly-item-number-ap4443773.aspx)

Hope this helps.

Update: I checked the DC voltages on the gas valve coils, both were OK. The Cooling light is still on and the Drying light blinks when it's running. Would that still still be the flame sensor or a bad control board?
Thanks.

The flashing Drying light means that the dryer is in heat mode.  When the Cooling light flashes, the dryer is in cool down mode.  Those are not your problem.  I doubt the control board is the problem.  I still believe the flame sensor is your problem.

Update: Resolved! I got the flame sensor yesterday and that solved the problem.
Thanks!
